With her recently released guidebook to purpose-led leadership ‘Lead Like You Mean It: Lessons on Integrity and Purpose from the C-Suite’, Laysha Ward has teamed up with Adeption to create interactive digital tools (workouts) that help readers dive deeper on the lessons in the book.

The book and workouts reflect the vision shared by Laysha and Adepton of creating positive impact through conscious, adaptive, and human-centered leadership.

Introducing Laysha.

Laysha Ward is a distinguished C-Suite executive with over 3O years of experience at Target Corporation, where she served as executive vice president and chief external engagement officer — driving business and community impact. She serves on a variety of public company, nonprofit and civic boards.

“Purpose is power, especially in today’s unpredictable environment, where we each need to constantly reinvest in and reinvent ourselves.”

Laysha’s new book shares the most important lessons she’s learned throughout her storied executive career, including how to create a meaningful purpose statement and lead with impact.

One of the foundational principles of Laysha’s Lead Like You Mean It philosophy is taking a holistic approach to your life and career. Often, we’re told we’re one person at work and one person outside the workplace. Laysha says, “To lead with meaning, you need to view your life and career as part of the same puzzle, act from your purpose, and make intentional choices. That includes nurturing relationships and championing and sustaining yourself and others”.

Laysha argues that taking time to get clear on your purpose is essential to leaving a positive legacy. “Knowing you’re part of something that’s bigger than you helps to stay aligned with your purpose no matter what life throws at you”.

She emphasizes leadership is a continuous, lifelong journey. “It’s about progress—not perfection,” she says.

Matt Murphy, Adeption’s Chief Partnership Officer, agrees. “Laysha’s perspective is perfectly aligned with Adeption’s approach—which is about empowering leaders and people at all levels of organizations to lead in a conscious way and to continuously learn through action and reflection”.

“In a rapidly changing world, adaptive leadership is more important than ever. Our Be Conscious, Be Curious, Be Better approach starts with getting clear on your purpose, values, strengths and growth opportunities. Then it’s about seeking out diverse perspectives and new approaches, and taking action in the flow of work to continuously learn, grow and be better”.

“We’re excited to partner with Laysha and enable readers to deepen their insights from the book on our digital platform,” he says.
